Kabir Khan Ayaz 'Izz al-Din
   One of the 25 Shamsi slaves bought by Iltutmish from the family of Yildiz's officer Nasir al-Din Aytemur. In Iltutmish's service, Kabir Khan attained the high position of a muqti'. Kabir Khan figured prominently in the revolts leading to Raziya's enthronement (1236) and then fall (1240). Af-ter his removal from Lahore (1240), Kabir Khan moved to Multan and established an independent principality there. His son, Abu Bakr, is reported to have died in the early 1240s while defending this principality against Hasan Qarluq.
